About QMUL ISoc:

The Islamic Society (Isoc) is one of the largest and oldest societies on Campus. It has endeavoured to provide information on Islam to all and to facilitate the needs of Muslims on campus (there is a sisters' wing to the Isoc which caters for women). It is a non-partisan society that is not associated with any groups, believing only in an honest return to the essential and original sources of Islaam.

How can you engage with it?

The first thing is to join the Islamic Society. This can be done easily. Go to the counter on the ground floor of the Student Union (SU) and tell them you wish to join the Isoc. It costs £5, this is an SU rule, but the money you deposit means that we can fund some key events, like hot food throughout Ramadan. Apart from this formality, the Isoc is always up to hearing your comments and appreciates any help you can provide (especially if it is in some ways connected with a particular skill you have). Approach the Isoc if you have an idea. The Isoc is also a great vehicle by which to develop certain qualities and skills (leadership/ group work/organisation) and to do this it often runs projects for which it seeks out people who wish to manage them. These projects can also offer great opportunities to network and gain some key contacts which may prove fruitful.
