The Islamic Society of Queen Mary University would like to clarify the attitude that has been taken towards the current QM Student Union Elections.

﴿وَلاَ تَقْرَبُواْ الزِّنَى إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً وَسَآءَ سَبِيلاً ﴾

“ And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is immoral sin and an evil way.” (Ayah 32, Al Isra)

How often is it that we, as Muslim Students studying at University, are faced with the Fitan of a society steeped in disbelief? Do we fall into it or do we persevere?

All praise is due to Allaah, the most worthy of praise; a praise superior to all other praise, just like the superiority of Allaah over all of His creation. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah, He is one without partners. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, without doubting his truthfulness; may Allaah bestow blessings upon him, his family and companions, as long as the clouds bring about rain, and the thunder comes after lighting.
